Charela Inn is a family own hotel, small and relaxed. The forty seven rooms sits elegantly on the famous Negril Beach, by the Caribbean sea. The beach stretches 250 feet in width and 150 feet in depth of pure white sand sprinkled with coconut trees to afford natural shade to the guests. Beyond the sand lies a lawn and two large patios to dine "al fresco" or simply sip cocktails while watching the sunset.
From the airport at Montego Bay, it is a 50-mile (81km) drive southwest to Negril, a trip that usually takes 2 hours but could take more or less, depending on traffic conditions. The road winds scenically past ruins of sugar estates and great houses. On Negril Beach this 47 bedroom hotel distributed in four buildings of two floors each, encloses a lush tropical garden with a round fresh water swimming pool at its center.
All rooms are built around an inner court yard in an Hacienda style with a round fresh water swimming pool in the centre of the yard, and a lush tropical garden with hibiscus, night jasmine, bougainvilleas etc. as well as many birds including our national doctor bird. All buildings are of two floors. Each room has either a private patio or a private balcony. There are six seafront rooms on the ground floor with direct access to a private garden facing the sea. Six other rooms on the first floor overlooking the beach. Then five Deluxe rooms on the first floor overlooking the beach, two junior suites on the first floor overlooking the beach, and twenty-seven standard rooms surrounding the garden and the swimming pool. In addition, there are four family units/one room with king-size/one room with bunk beds/crib sharing a bathroom. Within the rooms, three rooms are specially equipped for the physically impaired. All rooms are tiled with either marble or granite, all have ceiling fans and air condition, full bathrooms, telephone, cable TV, radios, and they are all exceptionally large rooms, the five deluxe rooms also have Jacuzzi bath and coffee makers.
Le Vendome Restaurant at Charela Innis the main restaurant. The meals are a blend of Jamaican and French cuisine representing the nationalities of the owners. As well as the wide choice of our "a la carte menu" they also provide every night a new "five course gourmet menu" in which we truly experiment, using fresh Jamaican products prepared with a French flair and a dash of Jamaican spice.
