Introduction

The Galley Bay is the perfect all-inclusive retreat for the discerning traveller. Great care has been taken to ensure the resort complements these natural surroundings. Location

This Romantic hotel on the tranquil west coast of Antigua enjoys forty-acres of tropical gardens between a bird sanctuary lagoon and a three-quarter mile secluded beach. The property is 10 minutes from the capital, St John’s, and 25 minutes from V.C. Bird International Airport.

Rooms

All guests are welcomed at the historical sugar mill reception and whisked by golf cart to one of the 69 suites and cottages. More than three-quarters of the accommodations lie directly on the white sand beach; the remainder tucked away in the gardens and boasting their own private splash pools. There are 4 categories: 14 Gauguin Cottages with private splash pools, 10 Superior Beachfront Rooms, 29 Deluxe Beachfront Rooms, and 16 Premium Beachfront Suites.

Hotel Dining

The Seagrape is the main restaurant serving breakfast, lunch and dinner. It offers Euro-Caribbean cuisine showcasing the finest local produce and seafood. The Gauguin is a more intimate dining experience which is open for casual lunches and a more formal dinner. There is live entertainment every evening. In the restaurants, there is a dress code: shoes are worn and bathing suites are covered. After 6:30 p.m., men wear shirts with collars and short or long sleeves (no T-shirts or tank tops) and slacks (no shorts, jeans, capri or 3/4 pants); and women wear dresses, skirts, slacks, culottes or in the summer tailored Bermuda-length shorts (no "short shorts", cut-offs or jeans). There’s nothing quite like sipping a rum punch and watching the sun slowly sink behind the Caribbean Sea at the Teepee Bar. Or you may prefer cocktails and hors d’oeuvres in our elegant Lounge Bar.

Activities

The following activities and amenities are complimentary, including equipment and instruction: Exotic freeform freshwater swimming pool with cascading waterfall, non-motorized water sports such as windsurfing, sailing, snorkelling, kayaking and 'Hobie' style catamarans, daytime tennis court, games room, table tennis, croquet lawn and horse shoes, bicycles, jogging trails around a bird sanctuary lagoon, library with Internet access. You can also get a great work-out at our spacious, air-conditioned fitness centre complete with Cybex weight stations, treadmill, free weights and stationary bicycle. The fitness centre provides glorious views of Galley Bay’s bird sanctuary lagoon.
