Introduction

Papagayo Beach & Design Hotel is an environmentally aware, luxurious and restful resort built in natural surroundings on the south of Curacao with 80 stylishly equipped villas.

Location

Papagayo Beach & Design Hotel Curacao is located at the Jan Thiel Bay, only a 15 minutes drive from the island’s capital Willemstad and a 25 minute drive from the airport, imbedded in a lush tropical garden of about 12 acres.

Rooms

All 75 villas (about 122 square metres) have a spacious living room with dining area, a fully equipped kitchen as well as 2 separate bedrooms with adjacent bathrooms. The natural materials used in the villas create a cosy and tropical atmosphere. The colonial-style interior of each bungalow had been especially planned for this Resort by the famous Dutch architect and Designer Jan de Bouvries. The folding doors to the patio can be opened to both sides. Together with the big ceiling fan one can feel a slight tropical breeze. The living room is equipped with a colour TV with remote control and a direct line telephone including answering machine. The open kitchen is equipped with dishwasher, fridge/freezer and a hot air/microwave/grill combination, coffee machine, kettle and toaster. Both bedrooms are fully air-conditioned and do have an adjacent bathroom, each with shower and toilet. Each villa is equipped with a safe and a hairdryer. The 5 luxurious Royal Suite-Villas (310 square metres) additionally do have flat screen-TV’s, a private pool and two spacious lounge beds at the pool deck. These Royal Suite Villas do have 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms and are suitable for up to 8 persons.

Hotel Dining

The well-known Restaurant Seasons is situated in the middle of Papagayo Beach & Design Hotel, within a beautiful garden and with a romantic pool view. It is rated as one of Curacao’s best restaurants, and welcomes you daily for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The chef Maikel de Leur will always try to fulfil special demands such as vegetarian or dietary food, salt free dishes, etc. During daytime snacks & drinks can be served at the pool.

Activities

The resort provides a spacious swimming pool with sundeck and chairs (free of charge), and a separate children pool with waterslide, as well as a kid’s playground. Daily fresh beach towels are complimentary. Other activities include: Diving School ScubaDo under German/Dutch-Management (dive courses, and rental equipment), beach volleyball, small beach shop, catamaran sailing, water-bicycles, surf, kayak & hike, snorkelling, and soccer. The guests of the Papagayo Beach Lounge Resort Curacao also receive free entrance at the “Baya Beach” with the famous snorkelling site “Tugboat” (distance about 5 minute drive). Finally, during the summer and according to the requirements, extended children animation (e.g. Beach & Pool-Games, supervised are offered. The white sandy beach of the Jan Thiel Bay is just a 100m walk across the street and guests do receive a Beach Pass (for free entrance) for the duration of their stay. However, beach chairs available against a charge.

Services

Children under 3 years stay free of charge, and baby bed or/and baby chair are available. There is also a complimentary shuttle service to a Supermarket (6 times a week). Computer with Internet access is available in the lobby for a fee and there is a new wireless hotspot (complimentary) in the lobby & pool area, wireless. A starter package or VIP package (basket with a selection of beverages and food) can be booked in advance for a fee. The resort offers as well a massage, manicure and pedicure service. Finally, the full service front desk will help you with restaurant bookings, booking of excursions, car rental, babysitter service, etc.
