Introduction

Captain Oliver's waterfront resort is uniquely located on the French/Dutch border on the island of St. Martin/St. Maarten. The resort is often described as a charming intimate getaway off-the-beaten-path, yet the unique location offers easy accessibility to the island's other attributes. Captain Oliver's Boutique Hotel was designed to integrate with nature - the hillside bungalows along the waterfront are nestled among tropical plants, natural rock outcroppings and winding paths.

Location

Captain Oliver's waterfront resort is approximately 30 minutes to Princess Juliana International Airport. The resort is also 25 minutes to Marigot, the capital of Saint Martin (French) and 10 minutes to Philipsburg, the capital of Sint Maarten (Dutch).

Rooms

The spacious junior suites have private terraces or balconies offering spectacular views. The guest rooms have high beamed ceilings, tile floors and are simply decorated with white rattan and local art. It's a small intimate hotel that focuses on friendly service and guest comfort. Each of the junior suites is equipped with a wet-bar that has a refrigerator with mini-bar, a sink and water heater for tea and coffee. The bathroom has marble counters with double sinks, a shower/bathtub combo, hair dryer and toiletries. The toilet is separate from the bathroom. Climate adjustments can be made with the air conditioning remote control. Satellite television offers several channels in English and several in French. - The Standard Ocean view accommodations are 418 square feet and have private terraces that are 104 - 156 square feet. Each can be adjoining via the terrace and have a choice of a king size bed, two full or two twin beds and an optional rollaway - The Superior Ocean view accommodations are 418 square feet and have private terraces that are 104 - 156 square feet. They have a superior view and are upgraded with pillow top beds with goose down duvets, luxury bed and bath linen, and walk-in showers with rain showerheads and a handheld. Each can be adjoining via the terrace and have king size beds and an optional rollaway. 
- The Marina view accommodations are 356 square feet and have private balconies that are 75 square feet. Each can be adjoining via the balcony and have a choice of either a king size bed or two twin beds. 
- The Garden view accommodations are 520 square feet and have sliding glass doors that open up to the garden, but no terrace or balcony. Garden view rooms can be adjoining. Each has a king size bed and a twin bed and an optional rollaway.

Hotel Dining

Captain Oliver's Restaurant was established in 1982 by Parisian restaurateur Olivier Lange who emphasizes fresh seafood, French and Creole cuisine. The open-air restaurant is built on pilings above the bay. Below the restaurant is an aquarium for sharks, turtles, tarpon and other native marine life that can be viewed through the glass floor. There is also a large live lobster tank housed beneath the restaurant. The Iguana Bar is located adjacent to Captain Oliver's Restaurant and the swimming pool. It has an open terrace with tikis that overlook the ocean with St. Barts on the horizon. The Dinghy Dock Bar and Restaurant on the marina is famous for its Happy Hour and also serves breakfast, lunch and dinner featuring casual American style food and a variety of daily specials. The Quai Ouest Restaurant and Bar is on the hillside overlooking the marina. It's a family operated Italian Restaurant featuring authentic Italian cuisine. The Yacht Club Piano Bar is also located on the marina. The interactive musical ambiance features Niko, a singing piano player that welcomes you to sing along.

Activities

Dawn Beach is located just across the bay. Free taxi-boat service to and from the beach is provided for hotel guests - it takes just a couple of minutes to get there. Due to the extensive offshore reef, on calm days it's great for snorkelling and on windy days there is a nice surf break that is fun for body surfing. Also there is a sandy area in front of the hotel along the seaside boardwalk with some tikis that is private for hotel guests. (Presently being refurbished to include a sunning deck and a floating platform). The glass wall of the fresh water swimming pool designates the French/Dutch border. Located on Captain Oliver's Marina is the Scuba Diving Center. Here you can rent or buy top-of-the-line scuba diving gear or also purchase marine equipment and supplies. The Activities Desk is located on the Marina and is open from 8:00AM - 11:00AM and 4:00PM - 7:00PM. Arrangement can be made for the Voyager Ferry to St. Barths, Full-Day or Half-Day sailing charter, Deep Sea fishing, horseback riding, St. Martin Park, the Butterfly Farm and much more.

The Reception is open from 7:00AM to 11:00PM. Do not hesitate to call our Front Desk for any information. Internet Services are available at the Lobby of Captain Oliver's Hotel. 
The beauty salon is located across from the reception, below the Marina view accommodations. In-room massages are also available. La Boutique is located at the entrance of Captain Oliver's Restaurant. There is as well a conference room, located across from the hotel reception. Room Service is available by calling Captain Oliver's Restaurant. There is an on-site laundry service for your convenience. Arrangement can be made for babysitting services by contacting the front desk. Bottled water, a variety of beer, wine, sodas and snacks are provided in each room's mini-bar which is stocked daily. All of the staff at Captain Oliver's sincerely want you to truly enjoy your vacation.
