Introduction

Location

Situated on the west coast of Antigua, just 25-minute drive from V.C. Bird International Airport, 20-minute drive to the capital of St. John’s and easy access to Jolly Harbour Marina and Golf Course. With its convenient location, Sugar Ridge provides the perfect venue from which to explore the island and some of the best beaches and activities in Antigua are just minutes away.

Rooms

All 60 rooms are delicately wrapped around the hillside with a natural landscape providing seclusion and privacy offering spectacular views and spacious verandas – perfect for relaxing. Rooms are grouped in sets of four, each with their own private entrance. Each room offers an ambience of quiet seclusion while natural landscaping provides privacy, and all enjoy spectacular views. Rooms are beautifully decorated in a modern contemporary style featuring a large verandah with a daybed and dining area, muslin draped four-poster kin sized bed, rich dark woods contrasting with neutral tones, and travertine tile floors. Upper floor rooms feature a daybed while ground floor rooms include a plunge pool. All rooms include state of the art amenities and technology: Radio frequency activated door lock, iPod docking station, electronic safe, LCD flat screen television, complimentary in-room wireless internet and throughout the property including garden areas, air conditioning, ceiling fan, hairdryer, mini refrigerator, coffee and tea maker, bathrobes, iron and ironing board.

Hotel Dining

Guests may choose from two gourmet restaurants and two bars. Carmichael’s is an open-air fine dining restaurant elevated above the hilltop to ensure stunning views with sensational sunsets. The menu offers international dishes infused with Caribbean flavours and fresh ingredients from the local market. It is open for lunch and dinner. Carmichael’s Bar offers a wonderful selection of cocktails and overlooks an infinity edge freshwater swimming pool and sun deck – an ideal location to enjoy a refreshing drink while enjoying panoramic views. Sugar Club Restaurant is located in the heart of the resort overlooking the main pool area offering Caribbean cuisine with a Mediterranean twist. High ceilings and large open shutters provide a traditional Caribbean feel. Dining is available inside or on the expansive verandah with picturesque views. It serves breakfast, lunch and dinner. Sugar Club Bar located adjacent to the restaurant with an expansive lounge area with contemporary style furnishing. Fountains surrounding the pool decks provide a romantic backdrop with live entertainment three times a week. Open nightly until late.

Activities

Located just two minutes and accessed by the hotels complimentary shuttle, you will find a beautiful palm fringed beach and the bustling Jolly Harbour Marina which provides numerous boating excursions, scuba diving and sport fishing trips departing from the marina on a daily basis for an additional charge.  The Marina complex boasts tennis and squash courts for the sports enthusiast and golf at an additional fee at Jolly Harbour Golf Club.

Services

The Spa at Sugar Ridge offers a full-service spa and gym occupying the entire ground floor of the impressive main building of the resort. An Aveda Concept Spa offering a wide array of spa treatments including: massage, holistic therapies, hair salon, manicures and pedicures. The expansive space provides five fully equipped treatment rooms. The fully air-conditioned gym features Cybex fitness equipment, 24 fitness machines including 13 cardio machines. Adjacent is an air-conditioned studio for aerobics, Pilates and Yoga classes. Adjacent to the spa sits an 82 feet long lap pool plus a 44 foot pool complete with cabanas and sun bathing areas.
